“We are poisoning the oceans [with plastics] at an extraordinary rate and we are raising their temperature,” he warns.

It has been pending almost two weeks to write. Well, it will never late to share my beach cleaning experience #beachplogging in Bagan Lalang beach. Bagan Lalang is a muddy beach surrounded by the mangrove forest in Sepang Selangor. 1 hour and 30 minutes journey from Kuala Lumpur it is one of the nearest beaches from where I lived.
I arrived at the location and shocked! I Saw much rubbish on the floor of the parking lot. That was only the beginning but then I move forward to the beach. I can't believe there was more than I expected. Along the sea shoreline, I witnessed so much trashes especially plastic. I started the panic and I didn't know how should I started beach plogging. You know I am the only one who was doing the beach plogging and I felt as much as possible I want to clean them all. From this event, I really have to do something about it. Malaysians should aware that this issue is happening. Our beach is polluted by plastics and trashes. So that, I am able to assemble as many people as possible to make this beach plogging movement success. Yes, the main mission is to eradicate plastic and trash from polluting our ocean tremendously.

The beach area is wide, it is impossible for me to clean them all by myself. Nevermind, if I cannot do something big, do a small thing in a great way. Then, I marked a spot in the area that I wanted to do beach plogging. Then I felt the pressure was reduced.
I started beach plogging from one spot to another spot. By the time I pick up trashes, I've seen much marine life death on the sand. They looked restless by living in the beach full of trash. Undeniable, Bagan Lalang beach is not in its best shape. As I can see there isn't clear blue water beach but water full of muddy. The beach has produced an unpleasant smell. Trashes are everywhere.

Net fishing is quite common here. When I had a chance to join a couple went for net fishing, I have witnessed much single-use plastics stuck on their fishing net and abandoned on the sea. It isn't enjoying at all seeing those trashes. Ironically, Bagan Lalang has world-class luxury resort built on the water but it has produced single-used plastic onto the sea. I found the toiletries plastic container scattered on the beach mentioned the resort brand. Toiletries items are something that must-have in the hotel but it's a matter of fact that is one of the single-use plastic only lasting for short of time. In the end, it will be a waste and more wastes are produced. I have learned as an individual, we should start creating our own eco-friendly toiletries by finding the product that less plastic consumption or bring your own toiletries whenever you're traveling. The study has found that in the personal care items that we used every day like the scrub, toothpaste, facial wash contains microplastic that is 10 times dangerous to the ocean and its marine life. Money making business corporation should able look into this issue seriously that profitable doesn't bring back our earth in the future. After all, it is not only about plastics that affects our ocean and environment is also about we as human beings who do this massive destruction to our planet.
By doing grass root beach plogging is a platform for me to understand the real issue and share this experience. Exploring the solution at my level before it goes into a big group of society. Change starts with you.
