Those who love bamboo clams or in Malay called Pahat, Pantai Kelanang Morib Selangor is the best place to find them. One of remote local beach one hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. Located in Banting Selangor west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. I made some site seeing before I start to do beach plogging. I saw a barrier giant sandbags far in the beach. It is to protect the beach from erosion process. I put down my burlap sack and my water bottle on the rock and watched a family with kids coming down to the beach chasing a swarm of mudskipper or ikan belacak. They looked so small walking at the sea shoreline. Just beside the Baywatch tower, I marked the collection spot on the sand beach. The segregation according to the type of the trash.

The sun was hiding among the smooth clouds. It seems not a good sign of the day. But I continue my beach plogging for about half an hour. I struggled in a certain area especially to pick up the trash in between the rocks. It was a bit challenging for me to save the plastic that stuck in between the rocks. As I can analyze the plastic has been there for quite some time. It is just a matter of time they cannot be escaped from the gigantic rocks. From the texture of the plastic, I can say they were starting to biodegrade naturally by the air and the salt water. But as we know plastic was not a good invention from the start. It can be long lasting for 450 years in a lifetime before it really disposes of the earth completely.

For an example, a plastic bag takes 20 years to biodegrade and then within 20 years there are still remain small particle microplastic left that will never biodegrade. Tiny microplastic is more dangerous to marine life than big scale plastic trash. Big scale plastic can entangle marine life let them suffering without knowing how to escape from the plastic. Microplastic is a silent killer agent to the marine life. It is polluting our ocean and the only world the marine life survive is in the ocean. Later on, we catch and serve them on our pristine dinner but we tend to forget they have been ingested all the microplastic in their body. Is it going to be a win-win situation for us, for marine life and the ocean directly? Plastic has become an integral path of our life. It is an addiction for us if we are not to consume them in our daily life.

Unfortunately, half an hour was very short. I heard the sound of heavy rain from far before it went to Pantai Kelanang. In meantime, I still got time to collect the data of my trash collection of the day;
